SUMMARY:BCSV May Meeting: Coaches in the snow & MTT Adelaide encore
DESCRIPTION:Change of May Social Meeting Syllabus Item\nWe had planned to have Cos Sita as our special guest speaker at our May Meeting\, along with Pino Gattellaro (Sunshine Tours) \nHowever\, Cos’ mother has recently passed away. \nThe Society extends its condolences to the Sita family. Because of this\, Cos has asked for his address to be postponed to September\, and we are happy to accede to his wishes. \nAn alternative programme has been arranged at short notice\, featuring “Coaches in the snow“\, using footage on the NSW Snowfields taken by Greg Travers and part of his Australian Buses No 7 DVD. \nPaul will also complete our feature on Adelaide government buses from their beginnings in the 1920s through to the Volvo B59s and AEC Swifts. This will include trolleybuses as well as the petrol and diesel MTT buses. \nOur bi-monthly Sunday social meetings are held at Hawthorn Tram Depot / Melbourne Tram Museum\, 8 Wallen Rd\, near the corner of Power St. \nAlight Tram Routes 70 & 75 at Riversdale Junction. Alternatively\, Hawthorn Station on the Belgrave/Lilydale line is a short 10 min walk away. \nEach meeting concludes with a short afternoon tea and chatter on the latest industry gossip. \nBoth members and guests are welcome\, free admission.

SUMMARY:BCSV AGM & September Meeting: A look back at Noreng and Mee bodies
DESCRIPTION:The BCSV’s Annual General Meeting for 2016 was held on September 15 at Hawthorn Tram Depot. \n\n\n \n\n\nThe AGM was followed by a photographical history of both the Noreng and Mees bus body builders\, presented by Paul Kennelly. This is a follow-on from last year’s excellent presentation showcasing Cheetham & Borwick. \n\n\n \n\n\nAfter a number of younger members joined the committee in 2015\, we’d hope to see a couple of middle aged members step up to ensure the committee represents the full range of age groups within the society. \n\n\n \n\n\nMembers are warmly encouraged to nominate members to fill one of the following committee positions:\n\n\n* President \n\n\n* Deputy President \n\n\n* Secretary \n\n\n* Assistant Secretary \n\n\n* Publications Officer \n\n\n* Treasurer\n\n\n* Tours Officer \n\n\n* Social Meetings Officer\n\n\n* Historical Research & Archives Officer\n\n\n* Membership Officer \n\n\n* Safety Officer.\n\n\nElections will be held if more than one nomination is received for a role. \n\n\n \n\n\nWe’d also welcome those who wish to fill a general committee position. \n\n\n \n\n\nA small afternoon tea followed our feature presentation. Guests are welcome to attend the AGM along with the presentation but were asked to refrain from voting in the official proceedings. \n\n\n \n\n\nHawthorn Tram Depot is located at 8 Wallen Rd Hawthorn near the corner of Power Street. Tram Routes 70 & 75 stop near-by\, with Hawthorn Station on the Belgrave/Lilydale line a short 10 min walk.
