DESCRIPTION:Our first BCSV social meeting for 2026 will be at the Melbourne Tram Museum in Hawthorn on Sunday 19th July at 3pm. \nBCSV President Geoff Foster present a pictorial presentation on buses\, trams and transport museums across Scandinavia from his current adventures exploring Europe. \n\nEach meeting concludes around 5pm followed with a short afternoon tea and chatter on the latest industry gossip.\n\nBoth members and guests are welcome to attend\, free admission. DESCRIPTION:BCSV members are advised that our 2026 Annual General Meeting will held on Sunday 27th September at the Driver Bus Lines depot at Mt Waverley at 3pm. \nPlease note both the change to the original date and the original venue. \nGUEST SPEAKER: PINO GATTELLARO\nThis will be followed by our special guest speaker\, Pino Gattellaro\, owner of Sunshine Coaches. Pino has been part of the bus industry for many years and is well placed to reflect on opportunities for the future. \nGuests are welcome to attend for this portion however will be asked to refrain from voting during the AGM. \nThis is a free event however any donations from guests towards the Victorian Bus Museum will be welcomed. \nVICTORIAN BUS MUSEUM RESOULTION\nThe meeting will see a vote on a special resolution considering to establish the Victorian Bus Museum Incorporated (VBM) which will manage the placement and care of buses at the MOVE Bus Pavilion and holding shed in Shepparton. Ample on-street parking is available along Ricketts Rd. SUMMARY:BCSV October Tour: Ventura 'Old & New' Afternoon
DESCRIPTION:Join the BCSV for our next tour on Sunday 11 October 2026. Spend your Sunday afternoon riding a variety of Ventura buses in a range of liveries. \nDetails of the exact buses to be used are still being negotiated but it is likely to include soon to be retired Mercedes-Benz O500LE low floor vehicles before sampling with some brand-new coaches wearing Ventura’s new charter colour-scheme. \nThe tour will coincide with the 20 year anniversary of Route 900 SmartBus\, with the once synonymous silver & orange livery fast vanishing from Melbourne streets. \nWhile there will be several photo stops\, we will not be visiting any depots. \nITINERARY\nPick up will be at Oakleigh Station at midday and return around 4:30pm. Wait on the southern side of the station on Johnson St (625\, 701 & 733 stop). \nAttendees are advised to have had their lunch beforehand. We plan to include an afternoon tea stop. (~30 mins) \nFARES & RSVP\nFares will be $5 for members and $15 for non-members. U/18s will be half price. \nAn indication of your attendance would be appreciated by selecting “Going” on the Facebook page or via email to secretary@bcsv.org.au \nAt this stage this tour will not have a cap on attendees\, subject to demand.
